hi, thanks for looking this over.
ive been working at lidl for around 11 months when last week a guy came in and held me up for the money in the till, with a knife or something. i gave him the money, there was more than there should be in the till because a manager had not put out a cashbox for me. the police came and i was searched, they found a little bag of weed on me, and arrested me because staff had apparently said they had seen me on the phone earlier in the day, when i told the police i hadnt had one that day. i was later bailed because i could explain the phone issue and there was no evidence against me. but i was held for 17 hours and interviewed for an hour and a half after i was the one that was held up.
right now i do not know if i will be sacked straight away for having cannabis on me as i have not returned to work, the issue is too stressfull for me to think about going back yet. however, today i was meant to get paid and i have only recieved less than half of what i should have. i dont know for sure but i am guessing lidl have docked my wages because i didnt have a cash box that day. even though it is the managers responsibility to put one out, and even though it was busy that day im sure i said to someone i hadnt had one.
please let me know if they have any right to do this under UK law, also, if so, i'd like to know if i have right to sue under UK law. for lidl takes 10's of thousands of pounds a day with no security, security gaurd and a maximum of 4 or 5 staff on,which i think is rediculous and only encourages these things to happen.
thanks for your info.
