well, for one, how do you know that everyone responding to me is an adult?
Because I've been here a lot longer than you, as have they. While I may not know them in person, I know them most of them fairly well here.

for two, how do you know that these "adults" are wise enough to even give me true legit feedback/information?
Because they have shown themselves to be.

for three, there have been many cases where the public thought a judge would lean one way rather than the other, and they've been wrong.
That is true. This is not a case I'm inclined to believe that will happen.

for four, are you an adult? because everyone that has been responding to me is an "adult" and if you are what is turn me "lose"? did you mean "loose"?
Yes, I'm an adult. I'm far older and have far more life experience than a petulant child. As for the misspelling, you got me. It's called a typo. Those things happen to everyone, even adults.

At the end of the day, you are free to seek emancipation. No one here believes it is going to happen. I fully expect the OG effect.

I'm going to end my comment here lest I get banned.

I wasn't talking about the college money. Admittedly, I don't know the legalities of that. I was talking about the money that you are currently saving.

And I would take her money at 16 if she was trying to do what you are because at 18 she could leave and never talk to me again regardless, and I won't be bullied by an ungrateful teenager who is bent that I don't make as much money as I used to. It is my job to keep my daughter safe until she is an adult, and if that means her hating me as a teenager then so be it. I hope that the decisions that I am making for her now don't lead to her actually wanting to leave at 16, but if they do, you can bet that I would do everything I could to stop it from happening because that's my job as a parent.
i've never once "bullied" or confronted my father about him not making as much as he once did (if that's what you're referring to).

that's actually called misspelled. a typo would've been "loosee" rather than "lose" instead of "loose". and maybe you can add "arguing with a teenager over the internet" in with your life experiences. your life experiences get you no where because you're "far older" so you should be extremely wise but then again you're behind a keyboard getting aggravated. goodbye and thanks for your feedback.

Backing up a bit here, OP -

People under the age of 18 are not adults. As such, they can not enter into contracts, including rental agreements. In rare cases, through no fault of their own, people under the age of 18 find themselves needing the ability to enter into contracts.

You do have a pair of, well, sub-par parents. They do provide you with the basic food, shelter and clothing. As the other posters have tried to convey to you, your situation simply doesn't rise to the level of someone who needs to be emancipated.

Your hope? Keep your head down and in your text books. Stay out of trouble. Do well in school. Keep good company. The minute you turn 18, you and the clothes on your back are free to leave.

Let that sink in a bit. Then, reread the other responses, and try to grasp where they are coming from. Then reflect a bit, and perhaps come to the realization that you've embarrassed yourself with your poor behavior. Then, be the adult you want to be, and offer your sincerest apologies to the members of this forum.

Irony, lol. Kind of makes you think twice about attacking other people for easy mistakes like "lose" and "loose" when your typo brought you down a whole letter grade.
