Hello,
Around 5 years ago I was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in Denton county Texas, the controlled substance was a prescription drug that I did not have a legal prescription for and was classified as a Class A Misdemeanor. I served jail time for this charge and have been out of jail for this charge over a year from now... Here are the details on this charge.
Date filed 11/26/2001
Offense Poss Cs Pg 3 < 28G
Disposed 01/04/2006 Judgment Of Conviction And Sentence
Degree Misdemeanor A
Warrant status Closed
I've recently been attempting to enlist into the US military for various reasons, including education opportunities, the Navy has told me that I simply have too many charges from the past to be accepted at this time (I have a few other Misdemeanors from about the same time as this charge or earlier, no felonies), so I went to the Marines next. The Marines seem ready and willing to accept me save for this one charge, which they apparently consider a big deal. The recruiter told me that if I managed to get this charged removed from my record completely that I would then be able to successfully enlist, pending physicals and testing.
Does anyone have any information on how I might accomplish getting this particular charge removed from my record, so that I may enlist without any further problems?
