My question involves name change laws in the State of: NJ
Hi,
I changed my name during accepting Citizenship and my new name is on my current passport, US Citizen Certificate, License and so many other document except Social Security Card. When I went to get SSN office to apply for new SSN Card with new name they said, I should have name change letter when I got US Citizenship, they need that letter to change name. Apparently I do not remember if I got this letter from USCIS, if I did then I cannot find letter from USCIS on name change. I believe i lost it.
Question: What is the process of me getting this corrected so I can apply for my SSN card with name matches with Passport, US Citizenship Certificate ? I am hoping I do not have to go through court for name changing process since it has already happened. All I am missing is the letter but I have all other document showing proof that name is changed and process is done.
