    Default Getting my deposit back

I live in California. I've recently moved out of a house I rented for 2 years. I put in my notice to move out on Janurary 31st with the last months rent included and was completly moved out by February 28th, then had my walk through on March 1st where I handed over the keys and went over any problems that might involve deducting out of my deposit, which at that time they said everything looked good.

It's now 28 days since I handed over the keys and I still have not heard anything or received any letter about a deposit. Have they forfeited their right to deduct from my deposit? Can I use the 21-day rule and take them to small claims court? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

You would be within your rights to go to small claims court. You may wish to look over the recommendations from the California Courts website.
