My question involves criminal law for the state of: Trespassing, Burglary .
So, my friends wanted to sneak out of the house and go meet up with some other friends. but we didnt know they had the intention of breaking into our old middle school. so they began to lead us down a trail and up onto the property. me and my other friend didnt want to go inside but we also didn't want to leave the friends that did inside for something to happen to them. so we went in.
They began to knock over stuff and disrupt the placement of things while me and my other friend just trailed behind. when they told us to put our shirts over our heads and run, we proceeded to do so because we didnt know what else to do. They had done it tons of times before and even took a key to the school. turns out they wanted to take another one. so they proceeded to take one and told us to run out of the area. then they jumped over a fence while the girls tried to but couldnt get up. so then they told us to go into the cafeteria and they let us through. guided us to the elementary school and tried to get in there. but when it didnt work, they tried to leave through the front gate. saw the cop car and proceeded to run so we ran after them. and then my friend had a panic attack. so while she had the panic attack, the guys put a key to the school into her backpack.
The guys got called into the office and got taken down to the station. they made it look like the involvement was equal for all of us when really it wasn't. they will probably be charged with Burg II seeing as they were caught going into the school the night before and this wasnt their second time.
As for the rest of us, two of us have gone in and told the story while the other two are waiting until tomorrow to go in. they want to wrap the stories up by friday.
But other than the guys, it has been the girls first time doing anything to this extent.
Can someone please telll me what to expect?
In the future, let your friends' stupidity be their burden to bear. The only thing bad that could have happened DID happen -- they got caught. And because you decided to also be stupid, you all get to be charged together. It's time for you to learn to resist peer pressure.
