You could but his lawyer doesn't have to talk to you. You would be better off asking the prosecutor about what happened at court than his lawyer.
I stupidly stayed with my ex husband after he assaulted me and I did talk to his lawyer a couple times and he answered. The judge had placed a protection order for the duration of the case which I asked victim witness to get the judge to drop and eventually he did.
You can do what you want but I seriously recommend you don't stay with your husband if he's abusing you. I have been there. I stayed far too long through too much abuse - physically, financially, emotionally. It's not worth it - especially if you have kids.
