Default How Can an Inmate Get Early Parole

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Mississippi,

My close dear friend was convicted to 30 Years in prison for statutory rape. He has no prior charges or anything of that nature in his past. A young teenager seduced him many times and he turned her down every time. One night he had been drinking and she took advantage of him . She was already sexually active with others before him. I've known this man my whole life and he is absolutely not that type of person. Please advise me of how we can possibly have a chance at parolle. Thank you

Your friend should be speaking with his attorney; only your friend and his attorney know the particulars of the case and thus only his attorney can guide him further.

If she "seduced him many times," he should've figured out he was in danger and removed himself from her company long before SHE caught him in a vulnerable position and more or less raped him, poor baby. Grown up men are supposed to know about the dangers of jail bait, that's why THEY, and not the wicked promiscuous seducer little girl is held responsible. Thirty years for someone this sweet and innocent says there's lots more to this than you are seeing or getting from your dear close friend, and you need to back far out of it. You will find yourself conned for a lot of money to pay for his dear sweet defense and appeals, and if he happens to get out, you'll find he really prefers younger women.

Your friend committed a crime - being drunk is not an excuse. Now he is paying the price for it.

There is nothing you can do. According to the website of the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault, there is NO parole for sex crimes. So it appears that your friend will have to spend the entire thirty years in state prison.

"I was drunk" and "She asked for it" aren't defenses to statutory rape.

They are not defenses to any kind of rape.
