My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: texas
I am 18 and I was at Walmart with my sister she told me she was going to go look around and I went to go get us a drink when I got back she asked me if I was still wanting something and I went and grabbed it and walked away but I got to another isle and put it down because I didn't want it and went to go look at something. After I turned around I realised I needed some new car freshener and went to go look and I picked it up and said to my sister do I really need this and she said no so I gave it to her to put it back and I walked away. While we where trying to exit I was talking to one of the employees about how it's too hot for her to be outside when a guy came up and said that I was shoplifting. And I said no I went to get a drink and came back and looked at some things. He then told me to lift up my shirt because I put my phone on my side and I told him no and he kept insisting I did so I took it out as showed him my phone. But I didn't realize my sister was actually stealing. He said he saw her put the car freshener in her purse and I looked at him and said no she put it up. But he forced us to go to the office and made my sister empty her purse. After she pulled out everything I saw she stole the two items I looked at. And the guy forced me to say that I stole them when I didn't.and now I have a $300 fee for something I didn't do.
