My question involves criminal records for the state of: CA
I've been going through an ongoing NICS appeal for just over 3 years now and almost 6 months ago was granted a 17(b) relief for a conviction back in the 70's. Funny thing is though I've been legally buying firearms all of these years while in CA from licensed dealers and was only ever denied a few years back, causing all this. I don't understand how this was supposedly missed all those years but the crime was as a function of law in 197x reduced to a misdemeanor for all purposes under 17(c). The reason we had to do the 17(b) reduction earlier this year is because the case was so old and no court documents available. My question is CA-DOJ who was responsible for my denial has had the latest court order since February 2017 and still has not updated y record with the current info - my attorney got notified by them just the other day and they advised they may need another 6 months - for nothing more than a couple of typewriting entries ???. My lawyer doesn't seem to give a hoot I guess but I'm getting pretty concerned as to what is really going on and wanted to ask if this is normal ?. Most blogs I've read and even my attorney said it usually takes anywhere from only a couple days to maybe a month which is extremely rare. Obviously something isn't right here and just so it's totally understood, I am already thru the appeal part I guess you'd say; just waiting on the record correction and a letter from CA-DOJ and FBI
