Post Will Your Probation Officer Visit Your Home

My question involves criminal law for the state of: I live in the state of Oregon

I got arrested for the first time ever on June 19th,2017. I now have to be on probation for 2 years. This is my first time ever getting arrested & on probation. No drugs where involved whatsoever, alcohol was only involved.

I met my p.o. last week for the first time also. Now here goes my question, will my probation officer visit me even though if I'm staying with a friend while I can go back to my own house?. I can not have any contact with my ex fiancee cause I harrast him.

You didn't state what state you are with. You can expect your PO to make a trip or two to see where you are living in many cases. Is that what you mean by "stayling with a friend?"

You're supposed to give your PO the address of where you are living. If your ex fiancee lives in your former residence what makes you think you're ever going to live there again? Your PO is going to visit you wherever you reside. If you change residence, you have to inform your PO of that too.

It doesn't matter if it's your first or 10th time on probation - your PO can come and visit you whenever he or she wants.

    She did say Oregon.

I find it hard to believe that she is on two years probation for an alcohol-related offense, unless she meant that she was drunk and did something stupid while intoxicated.
Seems likely that the harassment of the boyfriend is involved.

Missed that. Wish they'd leave it up front where the prompt was.

Here's the general conditions of probation in Oregon http://www.courts.oregon.gov/Multnom...fProbation.pdf
But she's probably already seen those.

Specifically: (h) Permit the parole and probation officer to visit the probationer or the probationer’s work site or residence and to conduct a
walk-through of the common areas and of the rooms in the residence occupied by or under the control of the probationer.

Note they also require you NOT to change residence without the consent of your PO.
