My question involves civil rights in the State of: Washington.

I have been led to believe that arresting and holding someone more than 72 hours with no charges constitutes false arrest and kidnapping.

If so, and with no limitations statute for kidnapping, when I look back...I was only 17 years old, *in the days "remand" hearings were mandatory (especially in cases where there was no violence, or violent crime, no weapons or dugs, yet I was held for over ten days before I was ever charged. I was the youngest of a group of kids who all pleaded guilty and I would not do so. As repayment for non-cooperation, I was sentenced to 15 years and 10 years consecutively. A total of 25 years of which I served just under six years, going through 5 prison riots, was stabbed, cut, beaten and "became a man" in an environment that taught me the exact opposite of what real strength and honesty are, and had my life totally destroyed.

Can I file suit? I had no prior convictions, no violence, plead not guilty, yet did close to four times the "average sentence" for first offender's and at the current false arrest and imprisonment figures, this would be one hell of a settlement. Let's see if THIS thread actually shows up. Previous three (hours of typing) never showed up. and now the head injury from the accident(s) has me starting in another migraine, so I have to close and try the other tomorrow.
