    Default Are Penal Code Violations Reported to Other States

    My question involves traffic court in the State of: California

    Will violation of California Penal Code section 640(b)(1) be reported to my home state (Virginia) DMV and impact my driver's license or insurance there? I don't think "Fare Evasion" is a vehicle or traffic infraction, so wondering how it is handled.

    Also, what might happen if I fail to pay the associated fine?

    Are you talking about getting sentenced on the misdemeanor offense then blowing off the fine, or blowing off the ticket in its entirety? Either way, you can expect to end up with a bench warrant for your arrest. You also risk a driver's license suspension that could be abstracted to your state.
