My question involves criminal law for the state of: ky
I have bipolar disorder which causes me to spontaneously do risky things. Yesterday I stole from my job. After I stole the items something in my gut told me to fess up. I went in the office and told him everything I took, the items were still in my car and I'd like to return them. He accepted, but when I brought them in the office he buried his face in his palms (he didn't expect it to be so much). He said he had to call the police. I begged not to because I have a clean record. He said his hands are tied. I said "if you wanna fire me then fire me but please don't call the police on me" he pointed to the door and said "ok get out!" When I got home my bf was telling me there's still about a window of a month or so where they can choose to file charges against me, and a sheriff can serve me with papers or they'll just come arrest me. If they go back and review tapes and see me stealing more items (which I have, stolen food for lunch). Is this true? I was under the impression that when he fired me that was it...btw the total amount stolen was between $50-100
