My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Tx

I had an phone interview with Loss Prevention where I admitted to stealing some snacks and a store credit that I was supposed to throw away. They had me write what I did and how much I took and sign it at the end.

I asked the LP on the line if he would persecute me, but he said not for a price that small.

I then signed another sheet that I don't recall completely but I said how much I took and that I will pay it back. The LP messages the district manager to see what would be done with me, and I left soon after. I was later called and told that I had been let go by my manager.

I really don't want to be trial for taking some water and snacks. It was stupid of me to do this, will I just have to pay my fine and be considered fired, or would they contact the authorities later.

They told me I should be expecting some stuff in the mail...

Anybody been in a similar situation? Anybody knows what's going to happen?

Thank you.
