Default What to Do About False Charges from a Former Landlord on My Credit History

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Texas. I leased from an apartment in 2012 where they began to charge me ridiculous fees that were outside the lease. I did not pay them. They filed an eviction. We went to court and the judge ruled in my favor and ruled I owed $0. I was let out the lease. I am just now finding out in 2017 that it is on my credit with a $2800 balance. I reached out to that apartment complex and provided our old court documents but they are denying it is real and will not have it removed from my credit. Is their a quick way to get this resolved because I am trying to move in 2 months and this bogus debt is preventing things?

The only way to get it resolved at all at this point is to sue them...and that will not be quick.

In the short-term you can dispute the charge with the credit reporting agencies -- but it's possible that the landlord will report back that the charge is valid.
