My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Delaware

Last year my employer gave me a written notice that my pay would be increased to X amount when Y happens. The monthly and annual salary were detailed as well as a one time bonus. It was signed by the top three officers in the company.

About 7 months later Y finally happened and when I got the new payroll information which I thought would contain the amount offered I found that my salary was MUCH lower than what I had been offered.

My job title had been changed to a position with a much lower salary. (Almost HALF of what I had been offered 7 months prior.) I saw through revision history that the job title had been changed one day prior to offering me the lower salary.

So, I worked for about 7 months believing that I was in position A and that I would eventually receive the higher salary...for that position. I was even performing the duties of that position PLUS the position with the lower salary.

Is this a breach of contract? I have their offer in writing.

I must say..I'm in shock.
