I've never done drugs in my life, only smoked a plant that helped me in many ways that I don't care to give up, because I dealt with the stress of not having help before it.

I spoke with the recruiter today who looked in the manual and said that it will not keep me from enlisting. All I've got to do is make sure to pay the fees and citation before enlisting.

I wanted to enlist after my daughter's first birthday so I could be there for most of her ''firsts''. I wanted to watch her grow.
If you already have some kind of anxiety or personality disorder or PTSD that might not qualify you to get into the military either.

You realize that you're going to miss a lot of "firsts" and watching her grow being in the military right? You could end up on a ship deployed. Multiple times. You'll go on TDY (training). You'll have to do a lot of things that will take you away from her. That's a reality. You're going to miss her grow no matter her age if you're in the military. I'm just giving you the harsh reality. I'm in the Army and once my daughter' medical stuff is stable I have to go to a leadership course for six weeks. That's six weeks of her life I'll miss. Someday I could deploy again. That's 9 months or even up to a year that I'll miss.

I'll tell you this you better stop smoking it because if you fail a UA after you're in the Navy you're ass is getting kicked out with a dishonorable. Keep that in mind.

Reason #1 I don't come to forums for help; illiterate ****s like yourself. Just wanted to see what people had to say and if I could get any good tips. If you knew how to read, I stated I was CITED for possession, not arrested.

Just because I'm pro weed, doesn't mean I have a "substance abuse problem". You can't even overdose on marijuana, therefore I don't think you could ever put those two into the same sentence without sounding stupid.

Marijuana is a plant that helps MANY people out in several different ways. If you do not understand this, then you need to read up on your facts. It's not even a "gateway drug" as people assume. I've been offered a few different things, but do not do DRUGS.

Now if I were addicted, which I assume is what your unintellectual self meant, I wouldn't quit smoking in order for me to enlist into the navy. I would have no reason for being drug tested and would still be smoking all of the marijuana I wanted to. I'm 20 years old and would like to better myself in a career, so I'm going to do so at a young age.

You can not so kindly go **** yourself, but after you look up how much marijuana has benefited several many people.

By the way, recruiter said I can enlist with my misdemeanor. Again, learn to read champ. I can't wait to bust my ass for my family and give them everything to prove to morons like you that marijuana doesn't make someone a bad person. Not that I will smoke again in the future, but will never be against it and it never changed me
Lighten up Francis. It doesn't matter what your view is on marijuana. Federally it's still illegal and in the military it's illegal and if you are caught with it in your system or using it you will be dishonorably discharged. They aren't giving people second chances anymore. You can call people all the names you want but I'm IN the military and I've been in joint assignments and have an idea how the Navy works. If you don't check your damn attitude the Navy Chiefs will eat you up and spit you out if you make it out of basic.

You really think there are no drug addicts in the military? Oh you naïve boy. Reality is about to kick you in the ass if you make it to boot camp and past it. I wish I could see you in boot camp. It would be glorious.

Nah, your ignorance is what triggered me. You're a nobody to me. A misinformed nobody, at that. I would never speak to a judge like that, are you dumb? Nowhere did I say I need marijuana to cope? I haven't smoked in 2-3 weeks and have 0 urged. I'm pretty sure I've already said this. I actually don't need anyone's help, now that I know I don't have to fight this misdemeanor. I can live a way more successful life than you with my "CRIMINAL" record. Suck a dick you piece of shit.
"I've never done drugs in my life, only smoked a plant that helped me in many ways that I don't care to give up, because I dealt with the stress of not having help before it. "

Your statement is where you said you needed weed to deal with the stress of not having help before you did it. So that means you needed weed to cope at some point. So yes flyingiron is right. You don't have to like it but don't be a dick about it.

Yes you do have to fight it. You know recruiters lie right? Often. I would definitely look up some Navy regulations myself if I was you and make sure that all you have to do is pay the fees.

free9man is right - the military changes rules and policies all the time. I have over a decade in and I have seen a LOT of things change. Also if you want to get a job with a clearance this MIGHT impact that.

Man I hope you do make it because the drill instructors or whatever they're called in the Navy are going to have a field day with you. I've dealt with kids with attitude like yours who come into the Army. Either they lose the attitude or they don't make it long.

You better start thinking about your daughter and not yourself. You will have a criminal record especially if all you do is pay the fines.

I've decided I'm going to pay all my fines after court and go ahead and enlist. I can handle my temper, but a nobody that doesn't know who I am and is stupid enough to say something about me being a drug addict and having substance abuse problems after CLEARLY stating I haven't smoked in a few weeks and have no urge to, I will be triggered. My mother taught me respect and I know who does and does not deserve it. I'm not getting an attorney to fight it, because there is a 2-3 day class you pay for to get it off of your record. I plan on retiring from the navy, and they accept me with the misdemeanor. That being said, it's not the biggest deal on my record, but to easily get it off in 2-3 days with a little bit of cash, is worth the time.
You clearly don't know anything about addiction. There are addicts who have gone 20 years sober and relapsed.

Really? You know who does and doesn't deserve it? Smh like I said you have a long road ahead of you in the military with that messed up attitude.

Just because you "plan" something doesn't mean it will happen especially in the military. I "planned" to get out after four years. I'm about to hit 13 years. You can't plan for everything because life doesn't work that way kid.

You have MORE of a criminal record? Did you tell the recruiter about this? Omg you are not gonna make it in the military. I will be very surprised if you make it out of boot camp.
