My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas
My bf is facing 2 charges, first ASSAULT CAUSED BODILY INJURY FAM V and the other is CONTINUOUS VIOLENCE AGAINST THE FAMILY I bailed him out on the first one and the second one happened a week later. Now there is a protective order. We just moved here and the judge denied his PR bond because he has no ties other than me here in Texas. If I bail him out, he has nowhere to go and I assume if he comes here, even if I allow it, it's a violation and he'll be picked up again. He has an examining trial early next month. I'm not sure what happens during an examining trial but will he have the option to plea out right then and there? If he does, what are the chances he'll get time served and probation? Does texas offer good time credits?
