Angry Websites Who Prey on Ptsd Victims

I was using a website & thought I was following all the many rules & I have been banned for speaking out against abuse of a few of the users/members using the website. I happen to have PTSD & so do most of the others who use the website known as my ptsd. It appears this is being run from another country & the person in charge is using multiple user names to bully & badger the users on the website when they "think" someone is not truly a victim of abuse. IS THIS LEGAL? I HAVE A GUT FEELING IT IS JUST WRONG TO GO AFTER VICTIMS IN THIS MANNER. Advice? No, I am not angry about a 3 day ban. I doubt I will go back to a place of abusers. I am in California.

If the site is hosted in some country other than the U.S. then it is primarily that nation’s law which will apply. Not knowing what that nation is and not having seen the posts about which you complain, no one here could tell you if what is going on might violate that nation’s law.

As for the U.S., freedom of speech allows people to say all kinds of things without violating the law. That includes the right to be rude, insulting, etc. You see such behavior on the internet every day in all kinds of forums, comment sections, reviews, and so forth. Though that kind of behavior is uncivil and perhaps even mean, it is not illegal. There are some things that one cannot do, including acts that rise to the level of criminal “harassment.” But it takes more than just some badgering on one internet site to rise to the level of harassment. After all, if you don’t like how you are treated on that one forum, you are free to stop participating there and then it won’t bother you anymore.
