Default What Happens if a Defendant Pleads Guilty at the First Court Apperance

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Colorado . If Someone pleads guilty and already signed a confession when arrested, how many more court appearances are there after the First Appearance?

It will depend on the charge and facts. In some cases, particularly minor offenses, the court could potentially pass sentence at the time of the plea. In other cases additional hearings may be required, including a meeting with probation for a report and recommendation and a later sentencing hearing. Read this.

For serious offenses, unless the defendant is represented many judges will decline a plea at the initial hearing, such that the defendant can obtain legal representation and counsel.
