My question involves personal property located in the State of: Missouri
I bought a car years ago from a man that was my father in law at the time. I was in a pinch and only had a grand so he let me pay the rest a few hundred a month until it was paid off. They never gave me a lien release when I paid it off. Every time I brought it up the dropped the wrong paper off for me, or something came up, or whatever. Now the car's basically junk- reverse went out in the transmission and estimates I've gotten are all more than what the car is worth- and stuck in my driveway and I can't do anything with it.
The original lien holder has now passed away also.
Ideally I'd like to either sell it to somebody who could fix it or at least sell it for scrap but now it's just sitting there in purgatory taking up half the driveway. Is there anything that can be done? I'm ready to park the car in their front yard and file a case in small claims.
