My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Florida
I was never in Florida but the rental car had FL plates.
Ok-I received a notice from the rental car company saying on 10/28/16 I had a "red light camera violation". I had rented a car, in Louisiana, never left Louisiana, from 10/28-10/31. The citation said Miami-Dade.
I looked up the violation on their website and at first I put in the letter O and indeed a red light camera violation comes up, same day, but with someone else's name!
Then I look at the citation number and think maybe it's a zero and not an "O" and when I put in that combination, another red light camera violation pops up, same day, but with just "holding company" in place of name.
This must be mine, correct?
How could there be two red light violations at the same time, same place, with almost identical citation numbers? The one with a name has already been dismissed, back in February.
As I said, I was never in Florida (which mileage on rental car shows!).
Could the violation have been sent to Miami because that's where car is registered? There's nothing on the citation about Louisiana.
I'm so confused! Plus I'm a very cautious driver and would never run a red in a million years although if you've been to New Orleans, the lights can be confusing and they recently installed traffic cameras...so I guess I could have unknowingly.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I've contacted the rental company, they don't understand it either but have opened a case and I should have a result in a week otherwise they charge my card $307![]()
