    Attached in a good article that describes (among other things) that a security deposit can be used for damages to a rental unit above normal wear and tear. Management is arguing that your deposit went to pay for this (plus more).

    If you disagree with the amount kept from your security deposit your option is sue in court for these funds. Hopefully you took pictures of the rental unit at move out to dispute these claims. Keep in mind that management is likely to counter sue for their additional claims. Whomever the court has the greater amount of evidence often wins.

    They do not have to contact you via cell phone to provide you with this information.
