Post Transfers of Probation to Another State

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Louisiana
I'm on probation for Louisiana since dec 2016 I was sentenced to 2 yrs supervised. I have paid all fines and costs I also pay 65 monthly at my reporting office. My family is moving to pa and I have a job opportunity there with my dad who currently lives there. I have asked my po several times about what I needed to do to be able to go and he's very rude and says no way no how. I contacted my judge and explained my entire family would be moving there and he said he has no objection as long as my family moves so he contacted my po and I got a message from him saying we can request a discretionary transfer but it isn't 100% I will get approved also I can not go to the state until the transfer is complete and it will take at least 90 days. I've wondering does it typically take that long and what are my chances of being approved?

It depends on the state that it's being sent to. PA has to approve it as well. If they don't want to take you then you're SOL. My ex was on an interstate compact for the last two years. His didn't take long - he left with me when I had to PCS (we were still married then). But every case is different.

No one can know your chances of PA approving it. Each case is different. If they tell you 90 days then it's 90 days.

Holy smokes, that was ballsy of you to go over your PO's head directly to the judge in charge of your case. You better hope your compact works out, because that PO is gonna be on a warpath for you if it doesn't.... just my own two cents from experience.

BTW, completely irrelevant to the top at issue, but a successful interstate compact was basically a sentencing term in my case. They wanted me the heck out of their state. Amazing how different peoples experiences with interstate compacts are.
