Question Have my rights been violated?

Hello there I have been trying to get this question answered for a weeks now with out luck. I have contacted alot of attorneys that say they do not have the man power to take on my case, or no call back at all.

I work and live on our family farm. I got permission to feed my uncles horse and when we were out there I noticed the hoofs were curled almost to the point of touching the leg about 12". My fiance who is studing to be a vet tech told me that it was defiantley neglect. And because I know my uncle would do nothing about it I made and anynomous call into the police department. They came out and took the report. My uncle was not home at the time and I went over there and talk with her. She asked for my information and I gave it to her but made sure at three seperate times to make sure that she was going to keep me anyonmous. She said that I had nothing to worry about and she was not going to put my name on any reports or anything like that. So I wasn't worried about it.

Then a little while later my uncle and I were working together at the next place down the road and he went to check his mail. When he got back he confronted me about being the reporting person on his report that he got from his attorney. Because she had cited him, and he had to go to court. Now this makes things very complicated in my life. He no longer trusts me even if he doesn't come out and say it. Plus when my grandparents find out and his brother which make up the owners of the farm and the house I live in I do not know what is going to happen. I will most likely have to move, and it will have to be out of town because we are a small town and these things get around once out, and I will my valuble relationships with family. And I will stand the chance of loosing my inheritance of my share of this farm and the one in a sister town and my share of the rental houses.

I knew I should have never trusted a cop to whatch out for my rights but I was trying to help a suffering horse that could barely walk. Which was put down anyways because of this mess. So am I totally screwed on this deal or what? Do the cops keep a recording of when calls are made to them with anynomous calls because that would easyly prove that I was worried about keeping this anynomous because I asked that gentleman several times and explained to him also what I would loose and he told me that I didn't have anything to worry about.
Please any advice would be helpful. I am going to loose it all and at my own expense at that for trying to do the right thing.

Actually, your girlfriend is wrong. It could be chronic laminitis and not neglect.

So you were not very bright in listening to her and you were not very bright in turning your uncle in to the cops when other alternatives could've worked.

actually is was neglect as proven by both the ferrier and the vet that had to go out and check on the horse. And if you were able to look at the other animals on the property you would also agree. Or the other 23 times that the officers had to come out because of calls into the sheriffs office. That is the only thing that seems to motivate him into doing anything.

I say pretty quick to judge and not very interested in asking questions to find out the truth to make a completly informed descion before spouting off.
And you forgot to even answer the question that is even in the titile of this post. Thanks for all your help to a guy who used this for the first time thinking that there would actually be a response worth reading. And thank you for wasting my time. you set a mood when replying like that. If you don't agree with me and what I did don't reply. But it is unfair to bully your opion on the subject instead of letting someone who is interested in answering the question take a shot at it.

I came to this site because of the name expertlaw not because it said for those who think they are expertopion makers.

I'm not sure what answer would be helpful. You don't have a right to an inheritance, and even if you are disinherited for reasons which are outlandish or unfair it is still the right of the person writing a will to decide to whom they are going to leave their money.

The police shouldn't be sharing your identity as the tipster, and I hope they don't, but it sounds like people are already assuming it's you with our without information from the police.

911 recordings are normally public records, so if somebody knows the date the call was made and the police have not yet reused the tape or discarded the recording, they may be able to listen to the call and identify your voice. I doubt that somebody would go through that much trouble.
