I was caught shoplifting 7 months ago, I live in Florida, and i went to court and adjudication was withheld. I am now applying for a job with an airline that will be doing a background check, will this appear on my record? Will it prevent me from getting a job? What exactly does adjudication withheld mean? Did you enter into a diversion program?

They didnt ask me to enter a diversion program, they just asked required that i pay court fees. So, even if adjudication was withheld, it still goes on your record?

If the adjudication was withheld, you successfully completed probation, and the charge was thus dismissed, you were not convicted

Based on the limited information you have given us I would say yes! However are you talking about record of arrest or conviction? If you were arrested there wil always be that record if one knows how to seek it. There appears to be no record of a conviction!

These are two separate issues. If you were arrested there will be a record of it. If you were not convicted then when you fillout job apps and they ask for convictions you can say no!
