Thanks.

Child support is base on your current income and expenses.
My guess: Take your current monthly income and multiply by 12 for current annual income.
Be prepared to support it with pay stubs.
Check out the statute for more information about income:

Thank you.
Our concern is one of us voluntarily took another job at the end of 2016 resulting in a decrease in pay of approximately $15,000 annually. It made sense at the time because the new position was fewer hours and less stress. We were concerned the court would not recognize that amount as a correct reflection of earning potential.
I suppose the amount can be modified if the salaries change however.
A voluntary reduction typically does not change the obligation.
I am going to disagree slightly with that. Since most people are paid weekly or biweekly, therefore have either 2 or 4 months a year where there is an extra paycheck, I think it makes more sense to take your weekly income times 52 weeks or your biweekly income times 26 pay periods to come up with your annual income.
If both parties to the child support calculation are ok with the current income being used, then the courts will be just fine with using the current income.
Thank you. I'm new to this. I wasn't sure if the rules were rigid or flexible as long as both parties agree. It sounds like the latter (barring disagreement) in most matters.
This is the language from the state's child support worksheet: "Annual gross income from employment or, when determined appropriate by the court or agency, average annual gross income from employment over a reasonable period of years."
