That doesn't even make any sense.

It comes across as circular reasoning, if the premises are true, the conclusion must be true. But it is not logical.

I don't dispute that an employer can make schedules and require employees to work when they choose.

The employer hires the employee and give them 2 weeks paid vacation and 3 personal paid days. That is a contract, is it not whether in writing or not. Yes, the employee can be fired for any reason. Aside from that though, the employee says they want to take 5 days off from XX-XX and it is approve by the employer.

The employee takes those days off and when returns, the employer says, "you took 5 days off and now you have to work 6 days a week (instead of 5) for 5 weeks to make up the time."

Is that what you say is legal?

    Yes, because it is.

And if you think it's not, post a link to the law that says so.

    Yes it's legal.

I've had to make up every single vacation/sick/personal/bereavement day I've ever taken in my entire career - and it was always legal. (And most of it was in Canada, which is way way WAY!!! more employee-friendly than the US - which means if it's legal in Canada, it's definitely legal in the US.)
