Default Can a Landlord Remove You from a Lease Without Your Consent

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of:
I was removed from my lease by my landlord and he added the occupant I had living with me to the lease without my or my power of attorneys knowledge. We got into a domestic dispute and while I was in jail I had my power of attorney turn off the power and water that was in my name and she got the landlord to add her to the lease so she could get the water back on.

What state did this occur in?

And what was your point in turning off the power and water in your name?

was the POA the same person as your occupant? Or are these two different people (hard to tell with the pronouns)?

If I try to decipher the post.... You were renting an apartment and were living with a roommate (possibly a subtenant). You were sent to jail. You decided to shut off the power and water, leaving your roommate in an apartment that was in your name, but which had no utilities, and you also stopped paying rent. Your roommate then went to the landlord and said, "I am willing to pay rent, but I need the lease to be in my name to get the utilities turned back on." The landlord then assumed that your shutting off of the utilities and cessation of rent payments was an abandonment of your tenancy, and entered into a new lease agreement with your roommate. Some period of time later, when you attempted to return to the apartment, your roommate told you that you were no longer a tenant and were not welcome to move back in.

Is that about right? If not, please clarify the facts. Please also provide a time line and identify the state in which this happened.
