Angry Right of Way for Electricity

I need help!! Me and my husband recently bought a singlewide mobile home and put it on 2 acres of land that we own, with plans to build a home on that land in the future and then sell the mobile home and have it moved. We had no problems getting our septic tank and water meter put in, but now we are down to getting the electricity hooked up and the closest neighbor is NOT going to let us run electricity from her power pole. WHAT can we do? We have talked to several of the Board Members on our local power board, PLUS talked to several people AT the power board and they say there is NOTHING they can do if she doesn't give permission. There aren't any other houses nearby so SHE is our only option. My dad has spoken to the lady that owns the property and she isn't really giving a reason as to why she won't let us. I can't think of anything it would hurt for running lines from her pole to ours?? PLEASE help. We are OUT of money so I just cringe at the thought of having to move the trailer to more land and starting all over!
    THANKS in advance.

If the electric company will not force the issue and the woman will not co-operate, then it looks like you are out of luck.

Have you offered to pay her for a right of way?

We have offered to pay $1,000 (which I know isn't much but... we really don't even have that to spare) and she declined. She is just getting ugly about it now... I guess she isn't crazy about us pulling in a mobile home over there. And it isn't exactly what I have always dreamed of living in, but we thought it would serve the purpose while we build a house. And she knows ALL of this but doesn't want to cooperate. We are having an engineer check to get an estimate on how much it will cost to reroute the power another way and I'm sure that could get very costly. But I'd almost rather pay $10,000 to the electric company than pay her one red cent. Can anyone tell me what it would hurt to run power from their pole? I mean, what could be the reasoning behind her not wanting to do it. I can't think of any reason why I would turn some one down if they asked me to do that.

It's evidentially her pole and her property. Those are some of the rights this country holds dear. Ever heard of a document called the Constitution?

Wow, didn't mean to strike a nerve. I have heard of the Constitution and respect her right to deny us access to her land. It is her choice, I just would like to know why. Maybe she thinks it is going to cost her extra since it is hooking up to her pole... who knows. I am just the type of person that if this situation was just the opposite.... i.e. her wanting to hook onto my pole... I wouldn't have a problem with it. I like to help people in any way I can. Guess God made us all different though... obviously.
