My question involves criminal law for the state of: New Jersey
So I've been shoplifting at Target for awhile now. Maybe for almost a year or two. I've never been caught and I mostly take little things. Chargers, aux cables, portable chargers, cases, screen protectors, clippers, rogaine lol. It probably adds up to a couple of hundred dollars. Less than a thousand definitely. I don't do it often either. I try to separate my attempts by weeks or even months. However, I've been doing my research and found out that Target has one of the best surveillance and crime divisions in retail. They might even have my adress by now. So, this weekend I did something really stupid. I bought glasses from Target Optical within the Target I usually take from. They have my email, address, and phone number now. I am so stupid to give them this, I know. But on the off chance that they didn't have my information before, do you think they do now? Like do you think they know who I am by face and recognized me as soon as I walked in the store (I'm talking about the cameras of course)? If so, then they probably talked to the optical department and have my information down. It won't be long before the cops show up to my house right? But if they didn't recognize me, then I should just be another name in their system and all is well. What do you guys think?
