Default Is It Easier to Get Emancipated While Pregnant

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Kentucky I'm 16 I'm 9 weeks pregnant and ive had to go and get my social security card and documents all on my own. I'm currently graduating early from highschool and my mom wants to not let me get my own place or have a roommate so I can get away from the stress they are causing me I do have a job and I'm currently appling for other jobs and I'm also in a lot of programs to help me so that I'm ready for my child when it gets here but my mother wants to try and control how I wanna raise my child and things . I don't like it and I've been thinking about emacipation since I was 12. so I was wondering what steps it would take me to get emacipated cause I just cant take it anymore , ive practically raised myself for awhile cause I live with my sister and shes never home so what can I do to start and try to get emacipated I know I need a lawyer but I don't know how to get one and I'm having trouble where I don't know the laws of emacipation in Kentucky so if you please can give me some advice on what I need to do

In Kentucky, you cannot be emancipated without parental permission.

If you really need an answer to that question, no, it is not easier to get emancipated after proving to a court that you require more (not less) adult supervision, and that you require a lot more money to support yourself and a child than you would have needed to support only yourself.

Did you Google the laws of emancipation in Kentucky? You obviously have access to the Internet. I'm sure you know how to use Google. Or do you just want everyone to do everything for you?

Having a job doesn't mean you can be emancipated. Not liking what your mom tells you to do doesn't mean you can be emancipated. Getting knocked up at 16 doesn't make you more of an adult. It actually makes you look LESS responsible than some other 16 year olds or adults.

Do you realize what it is going to take to raise a child? Especially when you're 16? Life is full of stress. You better learn how to handle it because you're about to get a whole pile of it heaped on in several months once you have an infant who depends on you.

Until you're an adult your mom doesn't have to let you move anywhere she doesn't want you to. She can't control how you raise your child but she sure as hell can control how she raises you.

It is not only NOT easier to be emancipated if pregnant, it is harder to get emancipated if pregnant. In fact, it may well be impossible to be legally emancipated while pregnant - a judge is likely to consider that you've just proven you need more parental supervision, not less.

As long as you are under 18, your parents control you. Unless, a court gives someone else custody of you because your parents are unfit. In that case, the person the court gives custody to will control you. You will be the one in control of your child and responsible for your child.

Where is your child's father ? Is he also a high school student ? Is he working ? If/when you apply for state cash assistance, the state will require the name of the father. They will contact him about child support.

I still want to know why every 16yo around here seems to be graduating early. If they're all such bloody geniuses how it is they all end up in the pickle barrel?
