Default Accused of Shoplifting in Another State

I was in Maryland at an Anthropologie store, which is part of the urban outfitters family of stores--- when I left the store i beeped-- and I showed them my receipt of the items i bought totalling $120... but caught in between my jacket from the fitting room was an $9 scarf I didnt intend to buy-- so the girl sent me downstairs in a separate room and completely was being rude and accusing me of shoplifting-- asked for my info-- social, address, phone # etc... and made me sign a paper-- which I didnt end up doing-- I plead my case that it was an absolute mistake.. I had a lot of things in the fitting room and I didnt want to place anything on the floor.. so I hung the things.. and i didnt realize that one of the things were caught-- so I told her-- that it was ridiculous to go through this for $9 when I bought a lot of things.. and she wanted me to be barrred from the store... so she finally gave in... I ended up just paying for the scarf which i didnt really want-- and left the store considerable angry and embarassed-- my question is I didnt sign that paper saying that I agreed to their accusation-- the only thing they have is my accurate personal info including my social-- do I have anything to worry about.. considering I did pay for the item--- my worry is that they still have those paper with my information.

If they let you buy the item and did not charge you I doubt they will ever contact the police and try to charge you. If your story is 100% true and they ever give you any problems with this GET A attorney. You should be more then fine.
