Contacting A Relative Based On Geneology Research

I am in California and tried contacting a relative in TN. This relative is a songwriter and I have proof from different photos that there is a relation. To break the ice I sent a package with a nice letter as well as trying to contact him through different sources. He has not responded nor is there any legal problems. Does this mean he wants to contact me? If he thought I was harassing him wouldn't you be told to stop? What do you think he did with the package? I meant no harm I just sent it to thank him in advance as well as to break the ice by telling him how much I like the songs that he has written. This was in the summer.

I found his phone number on Zabasearch if I called him and left a nice message do you think that might help in getting connected with him? I love meeting new relatives.

I assume he opened the package. If he did not get back to you, the most probable inference is that he either does not want to have contact with you or is being cautious about the possibility.
