The wife's options are limited, because a property settlement agreement (including alimony) is a contract, and recognizing that you made what turned out to be a bad deal after you enter into a contract is not of itself grounds to avoid the contract. Part of the purposes of entering into a settlement is that the future is uncertain, and the settlement protects both spouses from possible unfortunate events that might be suffered by the other spouse after the agreement is executed.
The wife should discuss the settlement and other facts of the case with her divorce lawyer, to try to determine if there might be an avenue to get the court to reconsider its decision, or for possible appeal.
