Default Who Can Claim a Dependent Exemption for a College Aged Child

A divorce judgment in Florida gives the father the right to claim the dependent child exemption on his taxes. The oldest child is now twenty and still lives with his mother, but attends college. The father says that he can still claim the exemption for the child. The mother would like to claim the exemption. Who has the right to the exemption?
