    Default Colorado Breach of Lease

In Feb 2004 my son moved out of his apartment. His lease term didn't expire until June 30, 2004. The landlord re-rented the apt in May 2004. Just this week (Tues March 6, 2007) my son was served with papers to collect rent covering Feb-June 2004, plus legal fees, for a total of $3300. His rent was $400/mo. As far as we can tell, he should only owe for Feb-Apr 2004 (3 months). Also, this seems to have gone past the statute of limitations for breach of contract in Colorado. Can someone please let me know if we are correct? He now lives in Nevada and has a court appearance date of 4/2 in Colorado to address this issue.

He would owe for any unpaid rent until Apt was rerented plus cost to find new tenant. Far as SOL that seems short time frame but I admit I do not know
