Default Renewing an IR1 Green Card With Felony Charges

A LPR has a Green Card that is about to expire. However, she has been charged with two felony counts of shoplifting, one of which has been reduced to a misdemeanor and the other of which is still pending. What will happen if she renews her Green Card?

Default Re: Renewing an IR1 Green Card With Felony Charges

If she is subject to removal due to her criminal charges, I can't promise that her Green Card renewal won't cause problems for her. Given the nature of the charges, she should be certain that her criminal defense lawyer understands the immigration consequences of convictions, and should be working with an immigration lawyer to try to avoid becoming subject to removal.
