My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

So my sister is financially strapped and did something really stupid. She unpackaged a small toy for son and put it in her purse. She was stopped at the door and LP asked for the belongings of theirs that she placed in her purse. She obliged, gave them the merchandise, and was let go. She's freaking out about possible repercussions now such as walmart using her plates (temporary license plates if that matters) from the store cameras to track her down. The attempted theft was under $25 if that matters at all. What are the chances they would pursue this and should she be expecting the police to show up?
