Question Someone Else's Alcohol At My House

If i have a party and ppl who i invite bring alcohol and drink it at my house...who gets in trouble for that if something were to happen (cops come, the ppl who drank get into a car crash after they leave my house, etc) in California??? Do I get in trouble bc they drank it at my house? Or do they get the blame bc they brought the alcohol...it was theirs?...assume we are all underage and parents are not home.

If it's in your house, then you possess it.

And that means you could be in big trouble for any consequences.

Recently, high school kids had a party...with alcohol.....without the parents knowledge or presence.

One of the kids got into an accident after leaving the party, killing the passenger in the car.

Amongst criminal charges for the boy having the party, the parents of the boy having the party are losing their house.

Hope that helps to answer your question.

If you knowingly let minors consume alcohol at your party, you can be criminally charged even if somebody else brought it to the party. If somebody is injured as a result of consuming alcohol at your party, your social host liability may vary by town or county. But with or without social host liability, your parents might be subject to suit under principles of negligent supervision.
