    Default Leaving the State with DWB and Weapons Charges

    An Iowa driver was pulled over for driving while barred (DWB) and was found to unlawfully have weapons in his car. If he leaves the state instead of appearing for trial, what will happen?

    He would be looking at a bond forfeiture, an arrest warrant, possible extradition... there could be an effect on his ability to get certain forms of public assistance. He should speak to a criminal defense lawyer before doing something foolish.
