In Texas, can an employer schedule you to work seven days per week, with no days off?
With the exception of a small number of professions, such as long-distance truck drivers, there is no law that requires employers to give employees days off -- so the employer can schedule the employe 7 days per week 365 days per year.
However, if the employee has genuine religious beliefs that require the attendance of religious services or observance of a sabbath, the employer must reasonably accommodate the employee's religious beliefs. Also, if an employee has certain medical conditions or disabilities, the employee may be able to assert a right to leave under laws such as the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
