My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

Hello I was at a bar talking to a woman, and I placed a pill in her drink to make her sleepy. Unfortunately her friends were there and started making accusations next think I know I'm in a building for the police. I signed a document admitting what I did but I am still here. In my country it is socially acceptable to give people party pills. What is my next step and why am I still in police building? When do I go back to work? Do i need to give the girls father livestock or something to make this right? What happens next?
On the off-chance that this post is not simply a troll, you need to understand the laws and culture of whatever country you visit, especially when it comes to doing things that might cause harm to others, like putting pills in other people’s drinks without their consent. In the U.S. what you claim to have done is very much illegal and also very much against the culture. The reason you are still in jail is that you either have not yet had a bail hearing or the bail hearing was held and you cannot afford to post the bail. If you can’t post the bail, you sit in jail until the trial or the case is otherwise resolved. If you are found guilty of this offense and are not a U.S. citizen you can pretty much count on being deported back your home country AFTER serving whatever sentence the court imposes for the crime.
