Default Does a Wife Need to Update Her Name on Her Green Card Before Filing for a Spouse

Does a wife who adopts her husband's name after marriage have to update her name on her Green Card before she files an I-130 on behalf of her husband?

Default Re: Does a Wife Need to Update Her Name on Her Green Card Before Filing for a Spouse

A legal permanent resident is supposed to update her I-551 (Green Card) to reflect her current legal name. The issue is thus much less whether she should do so before petitioning for her spouse, and much more that she should already have filed Form I-90 to update her name.
