Default Can a Doctor Refuse to Complete FMLA Paperwork

A parent tried to have his son's doctor prepare FMLA paperwork so that he could obtain time off of work to care for his developmentally disabled adult son, and the doctor declined to complete the documents. Does the doctor have the right to refuse the complete the documentation?

Yes, the doctor can decline to complete the paperwork. If the parent is the child's guardian, the parent may be able to find another doctor who will complete the documents; if not, perhaps they can find another care provider who will do so, or get help from the child's guardian.
