    Default Can a Landlord Charge a Pet Deposit for an ESA

    For a tenant who has documented a need for an emotional support animal (ESA), can the landlord charge a pet deposit fee despite having been given documentation of the tenant's need?

    If the documentation is in proper order, no, you cannot charge a pet deposit or any other pet fee -- because an emotional support animal is not a pet. Read this.
