I am a green card holder for over a decade now. I applied for citizenship over 6 years ago but during the application process I failed to disclose I was arrested for petty theft years ago. During the interview I was asked about it, I told them I forgot to disclose the information being that it happened so long ago. They said it's usually not a big deal since it's a misdemeanor however, I still needed to provided proper document of it. I provided the documents but was denied due to lying. I am strongly considering reapplying and plan on disclosing my arrest as well as provide the documentation. Would it be advisable to file again without an attorney? And do I have a chance of being approved?
