Default Can You Get Marriage-Based Permanent Residency After Illegal Entry

A child was brought into the U.S. illegally by her parents at the age of five. She's now an adult and is married to a U.S. citizen. Is there a way for her to gain legal status or permanent residency within the U.S. despite her unlawful entry as a child?

Default Re: Can You Get Marriage-Based Permanent Residency After Illegal Entry

The woman has potential avenues to obtain legal status, but her choice is best made in consultation with an immigration lawyer who knows the full facts of her situation.

One option is DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) followed by admission after receiving advance parole, but if she wants to pursue that option she had best act quickly as it may be repealed. She may also qualify for a provisional waiver.
