Talking Leaving the State After Release from Incarcaration Without Reporting to Probation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia
I was arrested in someone else's motel room who had less then a pound of marijuana in Georgia bailed left got arrested .I was extracted from California to Georgia sentenced to six months in prison maxed out on my time . My attorney had promised me I could do my probation back in California. I know no one in Georgia have no where to stay ,or money to live was scare so I left an went home to California.Georgia issued a warrant they say it takes months, if at all to transfer probation to California. Will they extracte me again back. What can I do at this point.I have no other charges or fines of any sort.

Well, at this point, you seem to have two choices. You can:

    a. Go back to GA and face the consequences of violating your parole/probation. Or,
    b. Stay a fugitive in CA and keep your fingers crossed that GA will decide you are not worth the expense of extradition.

Of course, with b., there are additional consequences. Every time you have contact with law enforcement, that warrant could still land you in jail even if GA keeps declining extradition. Every time you have even a cursory background check (job application, loan application, apartment rental application, public assistance, etc.) it will reveal the you are a wanted fugitive from justice.

Those are really your only choices. You have made your bed.

Well, they did it once so they may just decide to do it again. The only thing in your favor is that this time would be for a probation violation as opposed to a felony.

You were too scared to stay in Georgia awhile after you'd been released, yet not too scared to hang around in other people's motel rooms with large amounts of pot lying around?
